I brought some branches of cotoneaster in a week or so ago and stuck them in a dry vase. They have dried and curled delightfully.
Buddleia now flowering at the Boggy Brae. I know it isn’t a plant native to the British Isles but it behaves as if it is, plonking itself in all sorts of places unasked, so I’m counting it as wild.

I’ve noticed quite a lot of snails on the leaves (and flowers when they were flowering) of Yellow Flags. I don’t see many snails elsewhere because they have so many places to hide. Sometimes I find snail shells though after thrushes have been around. Similarly slugs only show up under things but we have a healthy population of frogs and sometimes see hedgehogs, which two species like eating slugs.
