There is lots of Wavy Bittercress (Cardamine flexuosa) on the Boggy Brae. I think I can now tell it easily apart from Hairy Bittercress (Cardamine hirsuta), which is also plentiful. One of the clues is the number of stamens. C.flexuosa has six as opposed to C.hirsuta’s four. Not sure what the wee yellow thing is: did somebody drop some pollen out of its basket?

Thanks for the ID tip for the bittercresses Helen, that’s really useful to know :-) I’m often amazed at what turns up in a photo, that I hadn’t seen at the time :-)

Something else I only discovered recently is that the seed pods of C.flex don’t normally overtop the stem, whereas those of C.hirsuta do.
