Flowering Currant (Ribes sanguineum) is in full bloom at the moment. This specimen has the support of holly and wild cherry trees that grow right next to it. I also suspect it has been here a long time. At any rate, it is tall–I reckon five metres wouldn’t be an exaggeration. If holly were not so prickly I’d climb up for a better view of the top.

Bumble bees were buzzing around it. They were hard to see–perhaps they were high up–but I could certainly hear them.
